On-location in Studio City
Update: the film’s title is “Crazy, Stupid, Love“. Today my wife, Nicci, and I visited one of the filming locations for an upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures production. Located atop a hill in Studio City, California, the location—”Jacob’s House” (as it’s known for the movie)—is a $7-plus million, privately-owned, vacation home. According to the grip company that hosted us, the film’s title is known by WBP executives, but... Read More
Sometimes it's an uphill push, even for Batman
Despite its recent release, The Dark Knight (July 2008) appears near the top of my personal list for all-time favorite superhero/action movies. The character interaction, cinematography, and of course the late Heath Ledger’s performance as “The Joker” make Hollywood’s latest Batman franchise installment an arguable classic. No exaggeration, the first time I saw the film in-theater, the following dialogue stood out to me for its deep moral truth. Note... Read More

For clarification, I... Read More

It’s return-on-investment is worth its weight in gold to me, and I dare say that every woman—every wife—wants this from their husband. So here it is, the number one key to a happy marriage: husbands,... Read More

Separate vs. Individual
“We are one body” — the Apostle Paul in his letter to Ephesus “One band, one sound” — quote from Orlando Jones (Dr. Lee), in Drumline “One team, one focus” — 2008 Pauls Valley Lady Panthers Softball team motto Each of the above ideas is reflective of the power of unity, and community. While each statement does represent individualism, it does not promote separatism. There is a difference. Paul went on to write that while there... Read More
